UX University
For members of Google's UX team who are spread across the world and sometimes working with limited exposure to other UXers, UXU is an exciting 3-day annual event where they can get together, learn from each other, build a community and get inspired.
Identity & Event Branding
A refreshed identity for the event was developed as well as a system that could be extended to community engagement projects. A set of custom illustrations were created to convey event themes: Community, Knowledge, & Inspiration.
Spreading the Word
To generate interest in UXU, a website was created featuring details about keynote speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities. After the event, the site displayed highlights of the event with stats and metrics about the event's success.
To build excitement, 10-second bumpers played throughout cafeterias to promote the event.
Engaging the Community
To bring this divergent group of UXers together and get them engaged between sessions, speeches, and workshops, a crowdsourced poster gallery and interactive string board were built to inspire them and start conversations.
Artwork from the posters was also used throughout the event—from digital screens to event schwag.
